Mission
The Tej Kohli & Ruit Foundation is an
NGO co-founded by Dr. Sanduk Ruit
and Mr Tej Kohli, who are united in their
mission to create a lasting legacy of social
and economic change in poor and
underserved communities.
This is to be achieved by screening
1,000,000 people and curing 300,000 to
500,000 of needless cataract blindness by
2030.

So Far
As of June, 2022, the Tej Kohli & Ruit Foundation has screened 143,637 people and has cured 16,949 of cataract blindness. After its successful and sustainable launch in Nepal, the foundation will soon be commencing its international chapter from Bhutan, and then progressing to other countries in Asia and Africa.

What We Do
The Tej Kohli & Ruit Foundation travels to isolated and remote regions in developing countries. A team will set up a outreach microsurgical eye camp (OMEC) to screen patients and assess if they are suffering with cataracts. If so, they are invited for free surgery.
The surgery performed was developed by Dr Sanduk Ruit. The operation lasts a mere 7 minutes and costs less than $50.
Curing needless blindness in developing communities gives people a second chance at life.
